SYNOPSIS: After Frank, Kenneth Okonkwo, impregnates a village illiterate Dubem, Mercy Johnson, in the village. She is made to come and live with him in his house in the 'city'. On arrival. First day. She forgets her son in the taxi and spends the night searching for him. As the amusing events of the day unfold and the day turns to night and the night to day, the next day the taxi driver returns the child and 'Sweet Mango' Dubem returns to Frank's house. Frank is bothered by her illiteracy and village mannerisms and even though he prefers Dubem, he is forced to keep Cynthia, Nuella Njubigbo, around him to save face and for public events much to the irritation of Dubem. Who will Frank choose in the end? Bitterleaf Cynthia or Sweet Mango Dubem?

Parts/Divisions: The movie, Dumebi the dirty girl has only two parts. Part 1 & 2.

Memorable Lines/Scenes: Mercy to tout: Stop looking at my bottom *Tout stares at her behind and says...* Tout to Mercy: MADAM! All your problems are BEHIND you!

Cast: Mercy Johnson, Kenneth Okonkwo, Solomon Akiyesi, Tchidi Chikere, Nuella Njubigbo

Excerpt

Amazing! Even the extras and gatemen were amazing. Mercy Johnson is just effortless, suave, magnificent, enchanting and simply delightful. I could definitely get used to seeing more Solomon Akiyesi. It’s so awkward to see Kenneth Okonkwo as the lover of people he is much older than. See him kneeling down for Nuella in this movie… I’m like “Tufiakwa you’re old enough to be her father” lol alright maybe I didn’t say it that way. I’m not that sensitive.

Review

-Story: [3 out of 5] If there is not more to the story than the parts I saw on TV then I absolutely loved the story. Simple. Straightforward. Hilarious.

-Originality: [1 out of 5] No! It’s not the first village girl story, however, Mercy brings a fresh light and new joy to the story.

-Predictability: [1 out of 5] The disadvantages of movies like this is that you definitely see where they are going. Regardless, I doubt that this counts much against them. Within the movie itself, there were some things I expected would happen that did not so even though all in all it is pretty set in stone, within its elements, its a bit different.

-Directing/Editing: [3 out of 5] No complaints

-Acting quality: [4 out of 5] Amazing!

-Setting and Costume/Make-Up: [3 out of 5] Great job

-Props and Graphics [3 out of 5] On Point

-Video Quality [3 out of 5] Good

-Audio Quality [2 out of 5] Needs a little help eliminating background noises.

-Soundtrack and Musical Score [3 out of 5] Soundtrack tells the story but on the plus side it does not play relentlessly during the movie.

Mercy mercilessly left me laughing and clapping and nodding to high heavens throughout the movie.

Great, work of art. I would have given this movie 10/10 but due to audio production dissappointment, I give it 8/10.
