Produced by Sylvester Obadigie, directed by Morgan Ukaegbu, ‘the four boys’ stars Zubby Michael, Paul Sambo, Johnpaul Nwadike, Junior Omoigbaele, Chiwetalu Agu, Angela Okorie, Ruth Kadiri, & Onyi Alex

Based on a true life story, the lead actors played the roles of the four UNIPORT students that were brutally murdered by a notorious vigilante group in 2012.
The movie shows the lifestyle of the boys, which indicated that the boys had great ambitions and a strong desire for education, music, and entertainment in general. Until that unprecedented tragic and horrific incident occurred after the boys were wrongfully accused of stealing laptops and phones. There is a lot of twist to the story, as it was indicated that one of the four boys had previously loaned his friend a lump sum of money before, which was one of the key factors that led to that horrific incident.

My Two-Cents

It’s been a while since I commented on an upcoming feature for various reasons. Fact is, I didn’t see how my opinion about work that I was yet to see was of any consequence in the grand scheme of things. However, I can’t not say something about this. It’s not that I don’t think the Aluu4 killings are important enough for a movie to be made about them, or because I don’t believe the movie makers had a valid reason (which I don’t believe, by the way), see their reason below:

While a segment of people believe this is insensitive, “too soon” and/or “not the right way” to tell the story; others strongly support the movie as a way of raising awareness about the case and similar issues especially because after the initial outrage, there is little media coverage and there has been no legislative moves regarding jungle justice. – BN Movies

For the most part the creation of this movie just aggravates me. I’m aggravated by the film (the little I can see from the trailer), I’m aggravated by all those who participated in it (for agreeing to participate in it), but mostly by the person who made the movie.

This is a Sylvester Obadigie flick and in case you don’t know, he is the same man responsible for both ‘seasons’ of Blackberry Babes as well as Beyonce and Rihanna. To state it kindly, odds are that every movie title you ever shook your head at was made by him.

If we are going to honor the souls of the four boys then let’s do it properly. With better quality, better (actual) actors, for reasons other than monetary gain (and please don’t use the above as an excuse because we all know that’s not why you made the movie). The poor quality of the entire thing seems more like a mockery to the memory of the 4 than an ode. And isn’t it too soon for this? And I hope and pray that they did their research on the boys before making this
