From the director who brought us great titles like “The Child“, “White Waters“, “Distance Between” and “La Viva”, Izu Ojukwu is now set to release what might come to be identified as his greatest movie ever.
LIONS OF 76 (aka 76) is a military biopic, centered around the happenings after the 1976 coup and assassination of General Murtala Mohammed. It focuses on the life of an officer who is “indicted wrongfully” and the story is woven around his wife. In the words of Izu Ojukwu, “it’s a story told from a dual point of view – from the soldier’s patriotic perspective and from that of the officer’s wives.
The movie stars such great names as Ramsey Noah, Rita Dominic, Ibinabo Fiberisima, Chidi Mokeme, Memry Savanhu, Adonijah Owiriwa, Daniel K. Daniel, Nelly Ekwereogu and Shuaibu Ebenehi Adams

This movie has the full backing of the Nigerian Military as the script went through several months of approval by the Nigerian Military before filming began on set in a Military Barracks
